GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART) Refresher Course Overview

This course is aimed at professionals who work in the wind industry and require a refresh of the skills and knowledge required to perform rescue within a WTG environment.
Additionally, all participants will receive a refresher GWO certificate in Working at Height and Manual Handling.

The GWO Advanced Rescue Training is divided into two Modules:

1 - Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR)
2 - Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (NTBR)

Course Content:

Participants will be able to explain and demonstrate a wide variety of skills and knowledge. This will include, but not limited to, rescue scenario planning, evacuation strategies, identify suitable anchor points for rescue, casualty handling, concepts of lift planning, preparing for helicopter rescue, manging rescue efforts in a confined space, perform vertical and horizontal rescue, use of powered and non-powered equipment, safe use of rescue equipment, communication technique and casualty transfer.

Each participant will take an active role in the 2 modules;

Nacelle, Tower & Basement Rescue Refresher

The aim of this module is to enable the course participant to perform injured person rescue operations in a WTG nacelle, tower and basement, by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods and techniques, exceeding those of GWO work at height..

Hub, Spinner & Inside Blade Rescue (incl Working at Height and Manual Handling) Refresher

The aim of this module is to enable the course participants to perform rescue operations, in a WTG hub, spinner and inside the blade by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods and technique.

Entry Requirements:

Valid GWO ART (NTBR, HSIBR) or Valid GWO ART Refresher (NTBR-R, HSIBR-R) Valid GWO BST module Working at Heights, GWO First aid and GWO Manual Furthermore, Course Participants shall have created a personal Course Participant profile in WINDA and provide their own WINDA ID prior to completing the training. Candidates must be fit and able to complete all aspects of training.

Certification on completion

All successful delegates are issued with the following GWO Refresher course certificates

- Single Rescuer: Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue Refresher (SART-HR)

- Single Rescuer: Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Refresher (SART-NR)
